The kids had fun with this project and I had fun playing with all the colors too!
To make this egg dye I filled each cup about 2/3 full with water and then added approximately 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Then I added food coloring to the water, mixing colors for variety, until the water was desired color strength. Then we placed the eggs on a spoon and dipped into dye and let set for a while. Then we removed them from the dye bath and patted them dry with a paper towel. It's fun to double dip some of them for a two tone color, or put on rubber bands (see green egg below) for different markings.
Some of the eggs I poked a hole in each end and blew out the insides and then glued on ribbons. We used some of our first eggs from our bantam chickens for this project, so that made it a little extra fun. :)
